YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A GIFT
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 (KJV)
This passage of the scripture is explicitly clear. Grace is what we receive not what we work for or labour for. Grace is given to you not because you did anything right or wrong. It is just God’s disposition to be a blessing to His people.
In Christ, we have received the abundance of Grace and the gift of righteousness. Our right standing before God is a gift that God gave to us. Your right standing is so key and it is so important. The devil will always tell you that you have lost it because you made a mistake. The devil will tell you, you lost it simply because you did not read your Bible five times as you have planned. The devil will tell you, you lost it because of one reason or the other. Don’t fall for his lies.
Your righteousness is a gift! A gift is never earned! Once you pay for something, it is no more a gift. Righteousness is unearned. Righteousness is undeserved. Righteousness is unmerited. It is dependent on the giver. God gave us the gift of righteousness. What is the reason? Why is He giving us this gift of standing right with Him? It is so that we can reign in life through Jesus Christ. You are given the gift of righteousness so that you can reign over sickness, disease, pain, frustration, discouragement, distress and poverty.
God’s intention is that you reign. But you can’t reign until you understand that you are always right before God. You are always standing right before God. You have been discharged, you have been acquitted, the case against you is closed and there is no appeal. There is nothing the devil can do against your relationship with God. God has chosen you by Himself to love you with an everlasting love. He has chosen to call you His own. He paid the supreme price for all our redemption.
