YOUR LIFESTYLE SHOULD HONOUR GOD

YOUR LIFESTYLE SHOULD HONOUR GOD

“Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man’s hand.” 1 Samuel 12:3-4 (KJV)

One of the people I am mentoring in ministry was sharing with me not too long ago about a situation in his church that he wanted to talk to me about very badly. He wanted to make a critical decision but couldn’t reach me on time. However, he said his heart kept telling him he shouldn’t do what he planned. And he finally decided not to do it. There will always be a red flag in your heart when you are taking a wrong step.

Beloved, your lifestyle should honour God. Make it the object of your pursuit. And don’t ignore those red flags if you desire to live a life that will honour the Lord.

Samuel proclaimed boldly before the people that his hands were clean. And the people agreed! Is that your testimony? There is a reward for walking with integrity. Integrity honours God, and God honours people who honour Him (1 Samuel 2:30).

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Colossians 3:17 KJV). The believer who desires to walk in integrity must always ask this question: What do I want to get involved in, can I give thanks to God for it? This is the acid test!

As you are about to change the figure in that office, can you thank God for it? That is the issue! You can’t be a Christian by mouth. You don’t want to forgive others, yet you want God to extend grace to you. Mercy is not for the qualified; it is for the unqualified. God is honoured when we show mercy to those who didn’t do right.
