YOU NEED A SAVIOUR

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:” (Romans 3:20-22 (KJV)

When you are taught your right standing with God, it makes you strong in the Lord. When your eyes are continually opened to your right standing with God, it makes you bold, and it gives you access. You are not afraid! You come to God without fear and condemnation. But when you are told about every mistake you made and how God is waiting to get you, you will discover that you will be counting your mistakes. And there will be so many and pretty soon you will begin to think that God intends to wipe you out. But that is not what God intends to do.

The law is so perfect that it will not bend for anyone. The law reveals your inadequacies. The reason for the law is to show you your sin. It is to show you that you are a sinner. That is the assignment of the law. “Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,” (Romans 5:20 NKJV).

The reason the law came in was to increase sin in you and to make you helpless. If you keep all the commandments and yet disobey one, you have disobeyed all. So, no one can escape. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23 NKJV)

So, what do we need? We need a saviour! We need a saviour who will deal with us under grace so that we will not stay condemned. And there is only one Saviour. His name is Jesus. “…He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:25 KJV)
