YOU HAVE AN ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER

YOU HAVE AN ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”

1 John 2:1 (KJV)

I don’t want to make mistakes but if I do make mistakes, Jesus will bring me out. With this kind of mindset, you are not mistake-conscious. Rather, you are conscious of doing what is right. His will is that you will not sin but if you do sin, you have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ; who is the propitiation for our sins. Jesus is not only our High priest; He speaks on our behalf. When the devil rises and says this person missed it before he came to church, Jesus will say, “Yes, he missed it but I paid for it.” So, you are no more bothered about whether you will fall or not. You are bothered about doing what He called you to do. As you focus on doing what He called you to do, He will take care of your falling.

At times, because I am still a man, I don’t know my way. I can jump into trouble by myself. But He doesn’t jump ship because I ran into trouble. He is there with me.

Once, Peter and other disciples saw Jesus walking towards them on the water, they thought it was a spirit and they were all afraid. Jesus said to them “Be not afraid, it is I”. And Peter said, “If it be thou, bid me come.” Jesus said, “Come.” Peter came out of the boat and walked on water but suddenly, he took his eyes off the one who said, “Come.” He cried out for Jesus to save him and Jesus picked his hands. He was right there where he was sinking. Jesus didn’t come from afar. He picked his hands and raised him up and the two of them began to walk on water.

Fear not. Your Helper and your Advocate is right there with you. He will perfect everything that concerns you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
