YOU HAVE AN ADVOCATE
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2:1 (KJV)
An advocate is the one who pleads for the cause of another. He defends, supports, or promotes the interest of another.
God is the Judge of the universe and Jesus is on His right hand, is our High-priest and also our Advocate. No matter the accusations brought against you by the accuser of the brethren (Satan) your Advocate will admit that yes you did it BUT HIS Blood has paid for it completely. Understand that Jesus is not denying the sin, rather He is presenting the payment for the sin, which is His death on the cross just for you.
It is because of His sacrifice on your behalf, that God can judiciously dismiss every case against you. You have been judiciously discharged from every case against you, acquitted, case close, and no appeal. This must be the mentality you should have.
You must understand that God has judiciously declared you innocent and completely righteous because Jesus took your place at the cross and shed His blood to pay for your sins and condemnation. 2 Corinthians 5:21. If you notice, I have been emphasizing the word “judiciously” so you know that devil has NOTHING he can use against you anymore, the price has been paid in full. You are not begging to be free, it is not a favour for the devil to leave you alone, NO THE PRICE WAS FULLY PAID.
God is always faithful and just to what Jesus Christ has done. When Jesus rose from the dead, He rose as your Advocate and lawyer. He is personally interested in your happiness and wellbeing. He knows exactly how you are feeling and what you are going through.
As your Advocate, He is alive to ensure that what He died for, you receive. So, cheer up, rejoice, do not let the devil put the weight of sin on you. Jesus paid the price for your sin, past, present, and future.
