YOU ARE NOT A SINNER

YOU ARE NOT A SINNER

“Awake to righteousness and sin not” 1 Corinthians 15:34 (KJV)
One of the hardest truths that is difficult to stamp into the life of an average believer is the fact that he or she is not a sinner. This is the result of religious teachings in most churches. 1 John 3:6 says, “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not; whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him”.
All you need to do is to know that you are in Christ. And if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. Your part is to acknowledge what He did and your position in Him. The truth is this: whatever you focus on, grows. If you focus on righteousness, your life will begin to radiate His righteousness and then you can say: the things I used to do, I do them no more. But if you focus on sin, then sin will multiply in you and the more of sin you meditate upon, the deeper you go in sinning.

What then do you need to do? Our scripture for today says it best: Awake to righteousness. Meditate on right living. That is how to abide. As you study the word, all the negative things in your life begin to fall off like dried leaves and indeed they are dry leaves because you have stopped feeding on them and you then radiate the righteousness of God which is what you have been feeding on.

1 John3:8 says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (KJV). One of the reasons He came is to destroy the works of the devil including sin. And in verse 9, it says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” Because you are born of God, you cannot sin. In other words, put on the mentality of righteousness and sin will be far from you.
