YOU ARE NOT A SINNER

YOU ARE NOT A SINNER

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19 KJV

The book of Romans 5:1 says: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (KJV). Verse 6 says: “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly” (KJV). Going further in verse 10, the Bible says: “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (KJV). And verse 12 it declares that: “…by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (KJV).

We have established from the aforementioned scriptures that every human being born in this world came as a sinner. You became a sinner not because of what you did or didn’t do. Once you are born, you become a sinner because the seed of sin is in you from Adam. That is why we needed a Savior. Romans 6:23 tells us that: “…the wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (KJV).

Before the law, there was sin but it was not reckoned with. Sin was not put on anyone because there was no law (Romans 5:13). Once the law says you should not do something and you do it, you have broken the law and the penalty will be there. So until the law, people were going about their routines and no one was condemning them. But as soon as the law showed up, everyone came under condemnation.

However, the good news is that what sin and its condemnation did in your life is not as strong as what Jesus Christ did on your behalf. On the cross, Jesus perfected our total redemption from sin. Therefore, by virtue of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the believer in Christ is no longer a sinner.
