YOU ARE DIVINELY COVERED

YOU ARE DIVINELY COVERED

“And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:” (Exodus 13:21 KJV)

God in His mercy and grace brought the children of Israel out of bondage. When they were wandering in the desert, God led them by going before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. By day, God spread a pillar of cloud as a covering over His people in the desert to prevent the scourging sun from striking them down. In the same way today, you are also under His covering. He will not allow you to be struck down. The sun will not smite you by day, and the moon will not smite you by night.

The desert is naturally a very hot place. I read an article about some people who were trying to escape to Europe by road and cried. A lot of people are lost and dead in the desert. There are those who were robbed in the desert, they never got to cross over. There were others who at some point in their journey, the water finished and they started drinking their own waste, and some of them eventually died. The worse is that some of them who wanted to return home, could not, because they did not have the resources to do that.

You see, God knew all of the difficulty the Israelites would encounter, and in His mercy, He covered them. That pillar of fire and cloud is a type of Jesus under whose wings we are covered. He covered them with a pillar of fire by night. Night in the desert is dark and chilly. And so, the fire gave them warmth and also provided light in the dark, so they could see where they were going. From the cold and dark night, the pestilence that walketh in darkness, and the destruction that wasteth at noon day, God made sure they were totally protected. This is what Christ did for us. You are covered under His wings.
