YOU ARE CALLED FOR A PURPOSE

YOU ARE CALLED FOR A PURPOSE

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 KJV)

Christianity is not a day’s journey, it is a marathon. It is not a 100 meters dash that you run a moment and it is over. It is a journey that takes you from one degree of glory to another degree. I once preached a message titled, “Unwrapping the Treasure.” When you become a Christian, God immediately quickens the treasure that he has put inside you even before you were born. That is why Paul said, not that I have already attained. That is, I have not been made perfect but I follow after that I may apprehend that which I have been apprehended by the Lord. In other words, there is a reason why God saved you. Keep following Christ. As you keep following him, he will continue unwrapping the treasure daily until you see Him face to face. Therefore every wrap that he removes reveals a fresh aroma. Each wrap removed reveals another aspect of you because you are many sided. You are loaded. And as you keep following God, he will be unwrapping all that he has loaded within you.

Ruth was called to be in the lineage of Jesus. But before she came to be in that lineage, she first had to be born a Moabitess and then be married by Elimelech’s son. And then her husband had to die. All these processes were preparing her to be in the lineage of Christ. When the husband died she had a choice to turn her back on her mother-in-law, Naomi.  Orpah turned back but Ruth has been called, though she didn’t look like it. And because she was called to be in the lineage of Christ, when she stepped out to look for a farm, she entered the farm of Boaz, the grandfather of Jesse. She could not have entered if she was not following. It is from glory unto glory. That is, the more you follow the more it unwraps. That is why you must never stop following.
