WALK ON WATER 1

Dearly Beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ the Son of the living God and our soon coming King. We thank God for His goodness and mercies towards us individually and collectively. We thank Him for His keeping grace over us; it is because of Him that we are still alive, and have sound minds; He is a good God.

This morning, I just want to encourage you and let you know that you can walk on water. Psalm 18:29 (KJV) says, “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.” Child of God, you have been given dominion and authority to walk upon your circumstances. You are not supposed to cower in the face of challenge and opposition, rise up and confront your confrontations for with God, nothing is impossible.

“And Peter answered him and said, Lord if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.” Matthew 14:28-29 (KJV)

Matthew 14 is a very interesting and enriching chapter, and I will encourage you to read it entirely. It contains the account of Jesus’ miraculous feeding of five thousand men, barring women and children, with only five loaves and two fishes. After this incredible miracle, Jesus asked His disciples to get on the ship and go ahead of Him to the other side. It’s important to note that the disciples embarked on this trip, at the instruction of Jesus. Midway into their trip, they experienced some major turbulence, their ship was tossed about because of the high winds. Child of God, this lets you know that sometimes even when you make a move based on an instruction, you can still encounter challenges along the way. These challenges often come to shake our faith, but nevertheless, the contrary wind is never the end of the story.

In the midst of the storm, the One who gave the instruction showed up, hallelujah. Jesus is dependable, He is reliable, and once He gives an instruction, you can trust Him, that no matter the opposition, He will be right there to deliver you. He will never ever leave you nor forsake you. Isaiah 43:2 (KJV) tells us “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:…”Matthew 14:25 informs us that Jesus went toward the disciples, walking on the sea; he walked on the very thing that was tossing them about. After the disciples confirmed that it was Jesus, Peter immediately asked Jesus to also ask him (Peter) to come unto Him (Jesus). Jesus then commanded Peter to come, and Peter also walked on the very thing that created so much turbulence on the ship.

Child of God, I declare unto you that you will walk on that very situation that’s plaguing your life, family, business, career, spiritual life and all areas. That circumstance will not be the end of you. Your lips will surely testify. We will pick it up again next week.

I bless you today in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Maranatha!

In His Royal Service,

Dr. Mike Okonkwo
