USE YOUR GIFTS TO SERVE
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” 1 Corinthians 12:7 (KJV)
Every gift, every talent, every potential, and every treasure that God has put in you is for the benefit of the people around you. God intends that everyone will benefit from His investment in you; your gift is not for your personal consumption. It is for the benefit of others
“Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So, if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” (Romans 12:3-8 NLT)
You see that everyone has his own part to play, and the only way we can maximize what God’s gifting so that we can be strong together is for everyone to play their assigned roles. When it comes to the things of the Kingdom, don’t ever develop the attitude of “I have arrived”. Never relax thinking: “I have served God enough”.
When you fail to serve, you rob yourself of the blessing attached to that service. Jesus said, “If any man serve me, let him follow me;… him will my Father honour.” (John 12:26 KJV).
I encourage you today to arise from your comfort zone and begin to serve. It will bless you. There is honour in serving and in the words of Jesus, the Father will honour you.
