USE THE LITTLE

“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, …” 1 Timothy 4:8a (KJV)

When you realise that your body is the temple of the Living God and God expects you to take care of your body, your attitude to your body will shift.

When God, in the Old Testament, specified certain animals for food for the Children of Israel, it was in a bid to ensure that they enjoyed optimal health. All foods are good, but some are more beneficial to the body than others. Today, we are not under the law, we are free to eat whatever we want, but the key to eating is moderation. Yes, you are at liberty to eat everything but don’t abuse your body in the name of liberty. Watch your level of Sugar and salt consumption. Drink a lot of water. Remember, over 50% of the body is made up of water.

Another thing I want to draw your attention to is exercise. Learn to move your body irrespective of age. Anything you do not use, you lose. If all you can do is short walks inside your room, go ahead and do it. If you can take a 15-minute stroll at once, do it. If you are young and you can clock 10,000 steps daily, do it. Exercise is good for you. It keeps you fit and you need to be fit to carry on this gospel. God needs you to be healthy.

Also, once you reach a certain age, you need to go for an annual medical checkup. It is not faithless to go to the hospital. The doctors have been given wisdom by God for our advantage, make use of it. Don’t take your body for granted. It is God’s temple. Not only that, but be sure to rest. If you are working, treasure your vacation. Use that time to relax. If you are a business owner, build structures that will allow you to take a vacation and when you do, please rest. Declutter your mind. Bask in God’s presence. Enjoy your family and friends and clear your mind. When you do this, you come back from your vacation fresh with great ideas and insights that will take the business to another level.
