THERE IS POWER IN THE WORD OF GOD
“Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast” Psalms 33:8-9 (NKJV)
In the book of Proverbs 4:20, the wise man tells us to give attention to the Word of God. In other words, become addicted to the Word. When we talk of addiction, it is not what you do occasionally. Addiction means the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice. Addiction also means something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, to such an extent that an attempt to stop it causes you harm or trauma.
You never have enough! That is what it means to be addicted. You never have enough. You are always craving! It is an obsession with something. God wants you to be permanently hooked to His Word. That is what God wants you to be at this present time.
There is power in the Word of God. That is why God wants you addicted to the Word. This power was demonstrated by God in creation according to the book of Genesis chapter one. All things were made by the spoken word. “Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3 NKJV). “Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” (Genesis 1:6 NKJV). “Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.” (Genesis 1:11 NKJV).
You see, God spoke and what He spoke came into being. God said and God saw. It is the Word that created everything. That is why you must become hooked to the Word. Consider what Jesus said about the Word. “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63 KJV). Get hooked and stay hooked on the word of God because there is power in the word of God.
