THERE IS BLESSING IN YOUR OBEDIENCE

THERE IS BLESSING IN YOUR OBEDIENCE

“So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.” Genesis 12:4 (KJV)

God’s blessing on Abraham affected several generations after him. He was not the only one who enjoyed the blessing; Isaac enjoyed it; Jacob enjoyed it; the twelve tribes of Israel enjoyed it; including Joseph in the foreign land of Egypt. Everywhere they went; the blessing was working on their behalf. How did Abraham break into the dimension where God said to him, in blessing, I will bless you? This is because he chose to follow God. Notice that Abraham was already blessed before now, but God said, what you have received is nothing.

Oftentimes, we sing the song, “Abraham’s blessings are mine”, and that is true. It ought to be ours. As children of Abraham, we ought to have what he had; even much more. However, we need to find out how Abraham got there. The book of Galatians 3:7 says, “Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham”. That is referring to us, the believers. All of us who are of faith are children of Abraham and we ought to enjoy what he enjoyed and much more.

But why are we not seeing the manifestation? Oftentimes, I ask myself critical questions. Is it that God is saying these things for fun and they are not true? Or is it that God is so stingy that He will sit down and watch the world enjoy the good things of life? Are you saying that God cannot justly prosper His children in the right way; so much so that they can drive what they want and buy what they want?

You see, there is a way some believers position themselves, and they make God look like a liar. Look at Abraham! When God told him to come out from Ur of Chaldeans to a place He will show him, Abraham stepped out. He didn’t say, God where is it? Rather he obeyed. Till today, the blessings are still flowing.
