THERE IS A COVENANT SPEAKING OVER YOUR LIFE

THERE IS A COVENANT SPEAKING OVER YOUR LIFE

“Then Jonathan and David made a covenant because he loved him as his own soul.”

1 Samuel 18:3 KJV

David had cut a covenant with Saul’s son called Jonathan. This covenant was such that Jonathan ensured that the covenant was not just restricted to him but was also to be passed down to his generation. It was such that he secured himself and indeed his generation. He made a demand that David will always show him and his seed kindness, forever. Probably at the time the covenant was cut, Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son had not been born. This fact does not invalidate the covenant.

The same thing applies to you. You are a covenant child. There is a prophecy over your life and that is why the devil cannot kill you.

Many believers are running from what they should run towards because they are ignorant. The scripture tells us about Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel 4. When David became the king of Israel, the nurse in charge of Mephibosheth carried him and was on the run. The nurse was afraid that David was going to look for them and kill them.

Now put on your imagination.  David had a covenant with Mephibosheth’s father, Jonathan. Mephibosheth was included in this covenant. He was meant to be a beneficiary of this covenant. But because they never knew, they were running away from David. While running, the nurse fell and threw Mephibosheth on the ground. He broke his leg and became lame. Mephibosheth became lame while his nurse was running from what he should have run towards. Many believers are like that today.

I know you love God, but the truth is that when you are getting ready to make a demand from God, you are afraid. You are not sure whether God will answer you because when you look at yourself you feel you are not qualified. You see yourself as lame and weak. You see shortcomings and you see that you have made some mistakes. Get over it today. Stop looking at your weakness. Start looking at the covenant cut in Christ Jesus.

Don’t run from God. Run to Him!
