The word is constant
Proverbs 22:28 {KJV}
‘’Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.’’
Dearly beloved, as we climax the age, everything we see in this physical world is headed for corruption and is subject to change. However, there is only one thing that remains constant and that is the word of God. The word is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow – it never changes. It is like an ancient landmark which the fathers have set. It is constant and it means the same thing at all times.
Like I would always say and it bears repetition, the word of God is the final authority on all issues. For instance, no matter how society may attempt to make gay marriage acceptable, we know that the scripture does not say a man shall be joined to a man. The word of God simply says that ‘’a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife {woman} and they shall become one. [Genesis 2:24} That is an absolute. That is an ancient land mark that cannot be changed.
In the same vein, no matter how much of good works a man engages in or how much kindness he displays, the totality of his goodness cannot earn him his salvation. As good as being kind is, there is only one door way to salvation. The answer is an absolute; ‘’except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God’’. {John 3:3} You are not saved and made righteous because of what you did, but because of what Jesus did. Beloved, as a new creature, don’t let the devil deceive you into thinking that God is angry with you. The truth is that He is actually in love with you. Yes, you may not qualify by human standards, but God not only qualified you, He actually chose you before the foundation of the earth was laid and there is nothing anyone can do about it
Another truth you must settle in your heart as a landmark is the fact that as a child of God, you are entitled to the vast resources of Heaven. You have a portion in the land. As long as your Heavenly Father has no lack in Heaven, you also will not suffer lack on the Earth. The word of God declares that you have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. If God says you are blessed, then it follows that everything that concerns you is also blessed. It doesn’t matter what you are going through right now, it doesn’t change what God has said concerning you. You must therefore learn to agree with God that everything that concerns you is blessed.
On this first Sunday service in the month of May, I come to challenge you to receive all that God has done for you in Christ. Beloved, in Christ you don’t do, but receive. Your salvation was a total package, so rest in the finished work of Christ. I declare to you by the authority of the word of God that you will not see shame neither will you be dismayed. You can’t serve God and see embarrassment. You will not struggle nor labor for trouble. You will experience something new in every area of your life.
As you go into this week, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. I bless you.
Maranatha!
