THE WORD IS ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOUL

THE WORD IS ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOUL

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:21 (KJV)

You must understand that when you got saved, it is your spirit that got saved, not your mind. Your willpower doesn’t save your soul. What saves the soul is the Word. It is the Word that will change your mind. It is the Word that will make you align your mind with your spirit so that you can function maximally. It is the Word that will get the job done in your soul. “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the word, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:25 KJV). That is the way it works: You keep on looking until you become what you are looking at. You keep looking, and you keep declaring it until you become what you are talking about.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”  (2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV)

You see that! You keep beholding and you are changed into the same image. Do you want a lasting change, keep on looking at yourself in the word of God. Notice that the change is from glory to glory. Not from bad to glory. Once Christ comes into your heart, your life becomes from glory to glory. That is what the Holy Spirit wants to do in your life. As you begin to behold God’s Word, without any fear and any doubt, a transformation takes place in your life from within. God works from within to the outside. As the songwriter wrote; “Jesus on the inside, working on the outside, oh what a change in my life.” The change Jesus brings is not external. It is internal and reflects on the external.

God said to Joshua: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8 KJV).
