THE VICTORY OVER SIN IS PERMANENT
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the
riches of His grace”. Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
Sin is the mother of all tragedies. And if the issue of sin is not dealt with, you cannot receive
from God. Even when the blessings of God are being offered to you, you will say you are not
qualified, and you will disqualify yourself. Every believer is right now in the Kingdom of His
Son. Everyone who has confessed Jesus as Lord and Saviour is already in the Kingdom of
Christ. You are part of the Kingdom because the precious blood of Christ has cleansed you.
Many Christians believe that God has not forgiven them of the sins they committed before
they became believers. Also, they believe that when they commit sin after salvation, God has
to forgive the one they just committed, so as to be alright, and the cycle continues. So, God
has to forgive sin again and again, one after the other. That is the mentality of several
believers. The effect is that every day you are confessing sin. In fact, you confess sin more
than asking for anything. But the Bible says: “In whom we have redemption through His
blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” Jesus died 2000 years ago. I am sure you are not up to
2000 years old. Therefore, you didn’t have a past sin other than the sin of Adam, which is the
one God forgave. So, if He has forgiven our sins even before we were born, that means even
the future sins we will commit have already been forgiven. This is the real hallmark of the
Christian faith.
When you see godly men and women walking in liberty, power and victory, it is because they
know they have been forgiven by God. They are not just thinking; they know. That is the
main clause of the new covenant. Hebrews 8:12 says, “For I will be merciful to their
unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
Beloved, your victory in Christ over sin is permanent. Don’t let sin hinder you.
