THE RUTH TYPE OF BELIEVER

THE RUTH TYPE OF BELIEVER

“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.” Ruth 1:16-17 (KJV)

Even when they do not understand everything, leaders must keep standing. Leaders must not change their confessions because of the challenge. Leaders must not run down the organization they belong to in times of adversity. Therefore, leaders and indeed every believer must develop staying power. It is staying power that keeps you going when nothing around you makes sense.

Ruth is the type of leader and believer that has staying power. The Ruth type of believer has a relationship with the Lord. For them, following the Lord is not based on anything they can get. It is based on the relationship they have with God.

The mentality of the Ruth type of believer is: “I have a relationship with God! Even if He does not bless me one moment, the fact that I have a relationship with him is enough. Just serving Jesus in my life is enough! Just waking up and knowing that Jesus is my Lord is enough. Just knowing that I am connected to Him is enough.”

The Ruth type of believer takes responsibility. When Ruth arrived at Bethlehem Judah, she was the one who offered to go out. In a country that she never knew her way around, she told Naomi: “Let me go, I know that God will give me favour somehow. She never knew anyone in that land, but the Lord ordered her step into the field of Boaz.

The Ruth type of leader can be trusted. They are not sentimental. They function by the word of the Lord. The Just shall live by faith. They understand that their relationship with God is more valuable than anything physical they can get.
