THE MINISTRATION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

THE MINISTRATION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.”  2Corinthians 3:9 (KJV)

The glory of the Old Testament was a fading glory. It was not supposed to last.”But if the ministration of death, written and engraved in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: how shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? (2 Corinthians 3:7-8 KJV)

The glory of the New Testament exceeds what we have ever seen and what we have ever read in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, the law condemns you. That is its assignment. It does not tell you how good you are. It shows you your errors.

Yes, the ministration of condemnation had some glory in it. But much more, the ministration of right standing is more glorious. The ministration you and I are standing under is a ministration of righteousness. Under this dispensation, you are never wrong before God all because He sees you in Christ Jesus. Every time you come before the throne of grace, God sees you through the finished work of Jesus Christ, so your standing is a righteous standing.

Right standing before God means no accusation, no condemnation, no judgment, no guilt, no fear, and no inferiority. The devil has lost the battle. He is called the accuser of the brethren. But now, there is no accusation he brings against you before God that can stand. Even when you are wrong, no accusation can stand against you, because of what Jesus has done. This is what it means to have the right standing with God. This is what gives you access to what God has provided.

Even when you blow it, you are still not wrong. How does that grab you?  Even when you messed up, you’re still not wrong. That is what makes the ministration of grace more glorious. That is why it is the gospel. Over the top, too good to be true news.  And that is why many do not see it. It is too good to be true! Even when you blow it, God is still saying: you are accepted.
