THE LORD’S CORRECTION

THE LORD’S CORRECTION

“My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction.”
Proverbs 3:11

Does Christ correct us? Yes, He does. But do you know how He corrects? I will show you how He corrects when you do wrong. According to 1 Corinthians 3:16; “Know ye not (in other words, have you forgotten) that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” Can you see that? In verse 17 of the same chapter, the Word says: “If any man defiles the temple of God, He will the Lord also destroy, for the temple is holy of God, which temple you are.”

Let’s go to the book of 1 Corinthians 6:15; “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them the members of a harlot? God forbid!” Verse 16 of the same chapter says: “What? Know ye not that he which is joined to a harlot is one body? For two shall as he said be one flesh” Now consider verse 20 of 1 Corinthians chapter 6: “For ye are bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body.” God was reminding them of who they are and whose they were. In other words, probably you have forgotten what you are made of; let me remind you whose son you are. Let me remind you of your identity – that you are not a sinner.

Let me remind you that you have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. Let me remind you that you are not supposed to eat from the garbage can. You are supposed to eat at the banquet table. That is how God corrects. That means I should find out who I am. I should find out what He has bought for me- my rights and my privileges. Realize that even if you make a mistake, He will correct you. But that will not make Him get mad at you.
