THE LORD’S COMPASSION NEVER FAILS
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not.”
Lamentations 3:22 (KJV)
As a believer, you must develop the habit of feeding on God’s love and mercy. They are new every morning, His compassions do not fail. You did not perish in that accident because of His mercy. You did not die in that sickness because mercy said no. You were not stranded, you have a roof over your head, you were able to pay your bills, you have a husband and you have a child because the mercy of God spoke on your behalf. That stray bullet did not get you, that witch did not get you and the enemy did not waste you because of the Lord’s mercy, not because you are smart, not because you are very strong, and certainly not because you have done everything right. It is the Lord’s mercy. That is why you should always sing and thank the Lord for His mercy. Appreciate and honour Him for His mercy.
The Lord’s compassion does not fail. What is compassion? It is called identifying and stepping into your condition. It is stepping in and saying look I am there with you. That is compassion! Compassion feels what you feel. Remember what the scripture says: “For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15 KJV)
Jesus has to become a man to sit where you are sitting. He sat where you are sitting. He felt your pain. He knows what you are going through right now. He knows your challenge and He can bring you out. When you look at the Synoptic Gospels, you will see a demonstration of the Lord’s compassion. Everywhere Jesus went, He healed the sick and delivered the oppressed. What moved Him was compassion. His compassion was constantly reaching out. It never fails.
Compassion is such that God says I am not going to leave you there. I will bring you out. I am not going to allow you to be destroyed in that situation. I don’t just feel what you feel, I want to bring you out. I know what to do. I can bring you out. No matter what, focus on Him. He will bring you out of every difficulty. His compassion does not fail, morning, night, or noon. It will never fail. It is all-powerful.
