The Lord is Your Protector
Dearly Beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. Welcome to the month of March, a month wherein the Lord will give you victory on all sides, He will fight your battles and silence the voice of the wicked. This month you shall sing songs of triumph in Jesus’ name. I have come your way this morning with an assurance from the word of God that there is ample provision for your protection and safety.
In this day and hour of global insecurity and ravaging health scares across the world, let me assure you that as a child of God you can run into His name and be safe. Yes, you can be safe from all the arrows that fly by day and the pestilence that walks in noonday. The word ‘Tower’ in our text means a building or structure higher than its diameter and very high relative to its surroundings. A Tower stands tall and can be seen from afar. A tower is a symbol of strength and refuge. With the name of the Lord, not only are you protected, but you are also projected to a high level of prominence. Just like a tower stands taller than every other structure around it, so God wants you to stand tall in the face of challenges. This is the position God wants you to operate from.
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runneth into it and is safe” Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)
Beloved, I am not talking about being proud, but being confident that no matter what happens, your safety is guaranteed. Child of God, more than ever before, you need to take a stand for what you believe. Gone are the days where you sit on the fence with one leg in the world and the other in church. The world is spiraling downwards and the hearts of men will continue to fail. With the amount of terror and impending global health epidemic, your knowledge of God must transcend “head knowledge” for you to be secure in Him.
Our text clearly states that the “righteous” runs into the tower and finds safety. Jesus is our righteousness. In this day of evil, you cannot afford to live your life without Jesus. A life without Jesus is a life of crisis. If you have not yet made Him the Lord of your life, this is the time to do so and if you are reconciled with the Father, now is the time to dwell in the secret place of the most High and abide under His shadow, because that’s the only place where you are protected (Psalms 91). I declare that as you go about your assignment this week, evil will bow before you and the wicked shall bow at your gate. I bless you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
