THE GOSPEL IS GOOD NEWS

THE GOSPEL IS GOOD NEWS

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18-19 ESV)

Beloved, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news. Jesus tells us in the scripture above that the reason for his anointing is to proclaim the good news. For too long you have been feeding your mind with bad news, news of doom, and news of wars. Yes, I understand that we live in very precarious times, but Jesus came to give us good news. It is high time you began to feed your mind and spirit with the good news of Christ. And what is that good news? You will make it! You will succeed! And no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper.

The situation you find yourself in may be so bleak that you can’t even see your way out of it. But the book of 2 Corinthians 4:6 tells us: “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”. Therefore, I call forth light out of every form of darkness in your life in the name of Jesus. You shall not be defeated. This is the reason God sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish, but have everlasting life. Did you see that? Out part is to believe the good news. His part is to bring the Word to pass.

Child of God, feed on the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it is important to listen to the news and keep abreast of the happenings in the society, but your heart must be so fixed on the good news of the gospel that even when you are watching the news, and the tales of dooms start, you can boldly declare that your case is different. When the news is saying recession, you declare to yourself: It is not my portion. As for me and my household, there’s a lifting. This is what it means to live by the Word of God.
