THE GIFTS MAKE THE MINISTRY
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;”
Ephesians 4:11 KJV
I want to challenge you to play your part and play it effectively because what happens to the total Body depends on what you do with your part. Don’t say your part is not seen. Jesus is not just thinking of you as an individual; He is thinking about the entire Body of Christ. What happens to the entire Body depends on what you do with your part. Our text today says, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;” This is also validated in I Corinthians 12. What that means is that if you have been giving yourself titles, you had better stop giving yourself; let Him give you.
There are many people going about giving themselves titles. Titles don’t make the ministry; the ministry makes the titles. Don’t tell me you are a prophet. If you are a prophet, let me see the fruits of a prophet in you. Once the ministry is on you, you don’t even need to let people know. What happens is that the people will call you that name. That is what ministry is all about. You can say “you are”, but God may say “you are not”. “A man’s gift maketh room for him”. It is your gift that makes a way for you. You don’t make a way for yourself. If it is there, it will be known.
Christ gave these gifts to the Church. In this end-time, the ministry and the office of the evangelists, apostles, prophets, pastors and teachers will be recognized by the Body of Christ. The “Body of Christ” is not just a denomination. Your denomination does not make the Church. TREM as a ministry does not make the Church. The Church is made up of everyone that is named by the name of the Lord.
