THE DEVIL IS ETERNALLY DEFEATED
“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:14-15 KJV
We must never become casual with spiritual things as if the Word of God does not have veracity. God’s Word works. The Bible says that God upholds all things by the Word of His power. It was the Word that created everything. So, the Word of God is still very potent!
Have you ever wondered why communion was the last thing Jesus did before going to the cross? “And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you” (Luke 22:19-20 KJV).
Literally, Jesus was saying to you: “I have given my life – it is a guarantee that the devil is eternally defeated in your life.” Now the issue is: do we believe it? Do we believe that the devil is eternally defeated? Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy: “Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel” (2 Timothy 2:8 KJV). No matter the challenges you come through in life, no matter how hopeless or how impossible it seems, remember: the greatest evidence to show that the devil is eternally defeated is that Jesus rose from the dead. The devil threw everything he had against Him not to rise, but He rose. That alone should give us assurance.
What is it that the devil has thrown against you? Always remember that he has been defeated eternally. Stop going about as if you are powerless. You don’t even know that the greatest forces on earth are the believers. You are powerful! Whatever the devil is throwing at you now is already too late. Jesus has risen from the dead!
