THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS

THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS

“And he said, hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, thus saith the LORD unto you, be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
2 Chronicles 20:15 KJV

Always remember that every battle affecting any believer actually belongs to the Lord and not the believer. God told Jehoshaphat and Israel in 2 Chronicles 20:17: “ye shall not need to fight in this battle. Set yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord”. Many of you are fighting when it is not a physical fight. Beloved, it is a fight of faith. The Bible tells us in Romans 1:17 that “the just shall live by faith”. That means the just live by the Word of God. Jesus said in the book of Matthew 4:4 that “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”

In Psalm 46:10, the Psalmist says: “Be still and know that I am God” This means, ‘if I am not still, I cannot know.’ God is not powerless, but He cannot flex His muscles when you are not still. He that keeps us does not sleep or slumber. Why then are you fretting? You did not save yourself.  He is the One who saved you. He started this journey of faith in you and He said to you in Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.’

Many believers are struggling with God. But what we need is to stand still. I know that the report is ugly, just stand still and look unto Him.  The only way you know He is God, who only can do the supernatural, is when you stand still. When you stand still you will see the salvation of our Lord. In the original Greek, salvation is interpreted as ‘sozo’ or ‘soteria’ which means protection, security, preservation, healing, breakthrough, among others. All these will come to you if you believe.
