THAT I MAY KNOW HIM

THAT I MAY KNOW HIM

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”   Philippians 3:10 (KJV)
You really will not have intimate knowledge of Jesus Christ until you know Jesus. You must have the knowledge of Jesus as the truth, and this can only happen if you are a hearer and a doer of His word. You can’t have intimate knowledge of him simply because you give your heart to Christ. You can only know him when you begin to hear what he said and do what he said. Then you begin to enter into this realm of intimate knowledge that we are talking about.
Jesus said in John 8:31-32: “…..If you continue in my word then are you my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”(KJV)
You can know the truth only if you continue in His Words. It is predicated on continuity in the Word. This means if I let go of the Word and if I am not a doer of the Word there are things I cannot know.
The book of Daniel 11:32 says:  “……The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”(KJV)
It is those who know their God and not those who worship God. It is also not those who go after God. All those are important. But then you must go deeper in knowing Him.
Paul was coming close to the end of his ministry when he said his greatest desire was  to know Christ,  the power of His  resurrection and fellowship of His suffering. And that he may be made conformable unto His death. Paul said that was what he was looking for. This should be the heart cry of every true believer in view of the multifarious problems we face daily.
The more you know him the stronger you will become. The more you know him the better you will be able to face the challenges of life. The more you know him, the more you can stand tall in the midst of problems.
