TECHNOLOGY – A NECESSARY TOOL
“And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15 (KJV)
For the last 5 days, I have taken the time to emphasize the place of the Word of God. There is no substitute for the Word. However, technology has come to help give wings to the word. Today, the world has become a global village because of technology. Distance is no longer a factor. You can be in any part of the world and connect to another part of the world in real-time because of technology. Several decades ago, some believers saw the television as the devil’s box and alienated themselves from it, but today, they have come to realize that it is not the devil’s box, rather it is a tool, and it depends on the person using it. It is just like money – money in the hands of a believer will spread the gospel, while money in the hands of a pervert will destroy destinies.
The time has come for everyone to take advantage of technology. Use your social media handles to let the world know about Jesus. Be creative. Share your salvation story, share your testimonies and those of others. Let the world know that there is hope. The world is in a cup of trembling. Many are confused and are at a loss for what next to do. The news from the world will not get better because the darkness has covered the earth and gross darkness to the people, but rather than cringe, the believer should rejoice because this is the finest hour of the church. This is the time to shine. So, embrace technology.
If you belong to the older generation and are out of tune, get someone to help you. You are not too old to learn. You don’t have to be a tech junkie; you can learn the basics of technology and use it to the gospel’s advantage. Remember, you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. You are a light set on a hill, you cannot be hidden under a bushel. Let us use technology to shine because we are the light the world is looking for.
