TAKE YOUR EYES OFF MAN

TAKE YOUR EYES OFF MAN

“The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.” (John 5:7 KJV)

At the pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem, there was a sick man who had been there for 38 years waiting for the troubling of the water. Jesus came to him and said: “Wilt thou be made whole”?  And he replied “I have no man”.  For 38 years he had no man to help him. The man also made an interesting statement. He said even though I made efforts, everyone was stepping on me. And I couldn’t get into the water. Why was that? Because everyone has a problem to fix. Every one has a need.

Some folks have been depending on man. They attend church but rather than focus on God, they are looking at some man. Beloved, the best of men are still men. The man you are looking at also has a problem. So why don’t you take your eyes off man and look unto your Maker. Jesus, the answer, was before the sick man, but he did not recognize the answer because he was depending on man. The book of Jeremiah chapter 17 verses 5-6 declares: “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.”

Take your eyes off man. Every time the men of God stand behind the sacred desk and they lift up Jesus; your eyes should be on Jesus, not on man. Nothing dies in the presence of Jesus. You cannot stay in the presence of life and die. No problem goes unresolved in the presence of Jesus. When Jesus is present, unprecedented change and transformation take place. May you encounter Jesus in every area of your need.
