STAY ON THE PATH OF OBEDIENCE

STAY ON THE PATH OF OBEDIENCE

“Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:4-5 KJV

Beloved, as you obey God, you can subdue situations no matter how complex they are. Situations and circumstances just bow to you; even devils must obey your commands.

Peter and his partner had been experiencing frustration until Jesus showed up. Notice that when Jesus was going to intervene in that bad situation, He gave an instruction. This instruction of Jesus didn’t align with the expertise of Peter. But he said: nevertheless, at thy word, he encountered a mighty miracle. His frustration would have continued if he had failed to obey the instructions of the Master.

Beloved, grace teaches us to walk in obedience. You see, you cannot enforce a law you do not submit to. If you must enforce the authority of Jesus in any area of your life, you must submit yourself to His authority. You must take your time to learn of Him and follow Him every step of the way. Every promise God made to us is an indication of what He has already perfected concerning us. It is already a done deal. However, it will not fall on you like a pack of cherries. The mother of Jesus said: “…Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5 (KJV). This is how to be positioned to walk in the blessing of God.

The choice is yours. But I encourage you to stay on the path of obedience and eat the good of the land. Review every area of your life and deal with any area where you are stubbornly living in disobedience. Purge yourself of it and believe that God will help you do what you have committed yourself to. As you do, you will partake of all that the Lord has promised you.
