STAY IN YOUR SECRET PLACE
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High, shall abide under the shadow of the
Almighty.” Psalms 91:1 (KJV)
Your secret place is the place that is exclusively patented to you. It is carved out for you and
cannot be broken into by any person. It is very important that every believer must have a secret
place. A place where you have intimacy with God. A place where you see into God and He sees
into you. It is an exclusive place in the spirit realm. It is not the earthly realm.
God wants you to hide in the secret place because several things take place when you enter it. I
am not talking about going into a mountain to pray or going to look for a room to pray and all
that. As good as that may be, the truth is that you can have a secret place in your car, in your
bedroom, in your kitchen, on the dining table, or in your bathroom. When you connect, you
decide not to allow the events surrounding you to determine what actions you will take. It is a
place where, though you are in the midst of a problem, you are not looking at the problem; rather
you are looking beyond it. In the secret place, you see the way God sees. God sees you the way
you really are, and you see yourself in God the way you are. In the secret place, you do not see
yourself in the things you are passing through.
Many people have shortchanged themselves because they continue to see themselves in this
earthly realm. It was Paul who said in 2 Corinthians 5:16, “Wherefore henceforth, know we no
man after the flesh…”. Then in verse 17, he says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” People will not know
you after the flesh because, if any man be in Christ, he is a brand-new species of being that has
never existed before. That means, you should see yourself in Christ; not in weakness,
shortcomings, failures, and frustrations. That is a secret place and you can only get in there when
you get into the word of God.
