STAND STILL AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD

STAND STILL AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.” Exodus 14:13 (KJV)

There are things you are facing now that constitute a challenge, and you are wondering what is going on. Beloved, the Lord already knows where you are. He knows that the enemy will come after you. But the Lord says you should stand still. To stand still in this context means: Don’t be frightened! Stop worrying! Stop being anxious! Go to bed! Let God work.

When you worry, God is not working. When you continue to work, God is not working. When you stop working, God takes over. You and God cannot put your hands in the same place. Leave Him to work. He has said that the battle is not yours. Stand still! When you get home, and it is time to sleep, go to bed. “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalms 55:22 (NKJV).

Depend on Him. He is your shield and your exceeding great reward. Let Him handle it for you. Stand still, and you will see the salvation of God. To stand still is not to be idle but to follow Him every step of the way. Jesus is our salvation. He is the captain of our salvation. You can’t see Him when you are not looking in His direction. When you are looking at your enemy, you can’t see Jesus. As long as God’s people were looking at Pharaoh and his army, they were afraid. You will be distracted when you start looking around. You will be earth-sick when you are looking around because you will only see the devil’s activities. When you look down, you will become discouraged. When you look back, you will be defeated. But when you look up to Jesus, you will see your salvation.
