STAND ON WHAT IS WRITTEN

STAND ON WHAT IS WRITTEN

“And when the tempter came to him, he said, if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” Matthew 4:3 (KJV)
In the book of Matthew 3:17, Jesus didn’t need to prove anything before God said He was His Son. Here comes the devil after God has spoken and wanted Jesus to doubt His identity. He was literally saying to Jesus: “Do you want to believe God? No! Don’t ever believe Him.” The devil’s intention was to put doubt in the heart of Jesus. But Jesus has already read in Deuteronomy 8:3: “……that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live”. KJV) The devil was trying to force Jesus to depend on bread instead of the Word.  And Jesus said I have a solid foundation already. So, I don’t need to doubt. He went ahead to tell Satan what was written. In other words, devil before you came, it was already written that man will not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. So, devil, you are late already.
One would have thought that the devil will leave Jesus alone. No! He came back again and said to Jesus you are being deceived that you are the son of God. This time the devil goes spiritual and said since you are quoting the bible I will also quote from the bible. “Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God cast thyself down…,” (Matthew 4:5-6 KJV).
Child of God, this is why you must be established and rooted in the Word so that the devil will not deceive you. Know exactly what God said and stand by it because there are many people out there to deceive. This should not surprise you, Jesus said it clearly that in the last days, false prophets shall be everywhere.
The only thing that consoles me is that Jesus said allow the wheat and the tares to grow. In due season He will separate them. As we are climaxing the age, the Lord will do the separation Himself. I declare that you will not fall into their trap.
