STAGGER NOT AT GOD’S PROMISES
“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;” Romans 4:18, 20
God promised Abraham in the book of Genesis chapter 17 that He will keep his covenant and make him the father of many nations and that his seeds will inherit the land of Canaan. At this time, Abraham was a 99-year-old man. But he didn’t allow his natural circumstance to become a stumbling block to his faith.
What Abraham was saying is: “It looks as if I am dead but I don’t care, Jehovah has spoken and what God has said will come to pass. No matter the challenge and no matter the pressure, what God has said will come to pass. He has said that I am going to carry my baby. It shall come to pass. He has said the enemy will not destroy my home. It shall come to pass. He has spoken it and it will happen according to that which was spoken.
Stop considering what the devil is showing you. That is his job! Don’t consider it! You will not be stranded! You will not die prematurely. The enemy will not cut your life short. Your hands will not bury your children. You will excel in life. You will finish that building.
Nothing works against the believer. It may come against you, but it will not work against you. The beautiful thing is that at the end of the shaking, you will come out better. The devil intends to get you before you get there. He has an idea of where you are going. He wants to stop you from getting there. But Jesus has already carpeted him. His devices against you will not prosper.
Understand that as a child of God, your situation is not hopeless. You are not without help. Your help comes from the Lord. Therefore, keep standing. Keep believing. Stagger not at God’s promises. He will come through for you.
