RICHES AND HONOUR ARE FROM GOD

RICHES AND HONOUR ARE FROM GOD

“Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.”

(1 Chronicles 29:12 KJV)

In the book of Esther chapter 5, a man by the name of Haman was upset by Mordecai – a common gate keeper. And he decided to exterminate him and all the Jews. He was so upset with Mordecai that he wanted to wipe out his entire race from the face of the earth. And for this, he prepared a special gallow to kill Mordecai. But in chapter 6, when all the plots had been perfected, God intervened and the entire table turned, rather than the Jews being wiped away, Mordecai was honoured. (We saw that two days ago.) In our scripture today, David, talking from experience made a very profound statement – “riches and honour come of thee”. Which further buttresses the question: where have you put your eyes on over the years – On man or God?

Everyone wants to be honoured and celebrated but the problem is that most times, people seek honour and riches from the wrong places. That is why corruption is tearing down the fabrics of the nations of the world. Organizations that have built a name over the years are crumbling because someone, at the helm of affairs, is looking for riches and honour wrongly.

Child of God, God wants you to be honoured both at home and abroad. He wants you to showcase His goodness in your world. He wants to make a boast of you like He did Job. So the issue is not if God wants you honored, that is settled. The issue is for you to refocus and seek riches and honour from the right place because they are both from Him. Jesus, in Matthew 6:33, gives us the secret: “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things – including wealth and honour – shall be added to you.

Turn your eyes on Him, like David, seek Him with all of your heart. Love Him unconditionally and see riches and honour come your way. I prophesy over your life that you will testify. God will surprise and surpass your expectations.
