YOUR WIFE IS NOT INFERIOR TO YOU
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 (KJV)
If you are in the company of those who believe that a woman’s position is in the kitchen and that she should not talk you need to change. Genesis 1:27 says that God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he, them. Both the male and female were all created in the image of God and no one is inferior to the other.
When God instituted marriage in Genesis 2:24, He said for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and both of them shall be one flesh. You are one and so if you mistreat your wife because according to the word of God you are one flesh, you are mistreating yourself. Can you imagine slapping with yourself? Will that not be insanity?
The scripture says we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Therefore, as believers, we must distinguish ourselves and prove to the world that we are different. We are children of God and we operate by the principles of the kingdom, so we must be the light to the world.
When you realise that your wife is not inferior to you, you will discuss intelligently with her; celebrate her achievements and encourage her to excel in any area of life she is involved in. You will be surprised to know how many people who today are still intimidated by their wife’s success. This ought not to be. Understand that you are one; your success is her success and vice versa, so celebrate her, encourage her, pray for her. Be genuinely interested in the things that give her joy? Today, as we celebrate Mothers, I encourage all husbands to take time out to make them feel special. Love them and express it. Women are moved by words; say sweet things to your wife, not just today only, but every day. Make it a habit and watch your home become the haven you have always desired.
