RECEIVE WHO GOD HAS SENT
Comments
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.” John 13:20 KJV
God does nothing on earth without sending a man. At one time in Luke chapter 5:17, the scripture says doctors of the laws and all these Pharisees were sitting in the house where Jesus was, and the power of God was present to heal all that were present. But they were sitting back and arguing about who he was and they got nothing.
At another time in Luke 8:43-48, there was a very large crowd. And there was this woman who had an issue of blood. She broke through the entire crowd and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment because she recognized that this was the man that was sent for my healing. Doctors could not help her. She was rich but she spent all her money on treatment. Yet nothing happened. When she heard that there was a man sent by God at the street corner making the lame to walk, the blind to see and the deaf to hear, the bible said she found her way right there. She said I don’t need him to see me. All I need is to touch the hem of His garment and I shall be healed. The moment she touched the hem of his garment, the blood ceased to flow and she was healed. It was a special touch. A touch of faith.
Jesus said who touched me. Peter said what do you mean by who touched you. There is a crowd out here and you are asking us who touched you? Jesus was in a sense saying there is a special touch. Not all touches are the same. Some came to touch to feel his cloth whether it is silk or cotton. Some came to touch out of curiosity and went back with nothing. Some touched by mistake. But this woman was intentional and came with a specific purpose.
Enough of coming to church and playing church. Stop this business as usual. If there is power in the word, let the word produce results. Let yokes be destroyed and let there be deliverance.
The other day in Matthew 13:55, Jesus was speaking and they said we have never seen a man speak like this. And they began to argue: is this not the son of a carpenter? It is not where he came from that is the issue, it is if the man is sent by God. If he is sent by God, you better listen.
