PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE LORD

PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE LORD

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)

In his epistle to the church in Corinth, apostle Paul declares: “And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:1-2 NKJV).

Apostle Paul was saying that Jesus Christ was everything to him. He was saying Jesus Christ was crucified for him. He said I want to know him. That was his desire. You see, when you put your trust in man, you are putting yourself in a tight corner. You cannot also trust in yourself because you will be surprised what you can do in an unguarded moment.

The book of Jeremiah 17:5-8 declares: “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:5-8 KJV)

God derives pleasure in you when you put your trust in Him and make Him feel like God. He enjoys it when we make him feel like God. I cannot…! But God can…! This should be our attitude. In that difficult situation, you cannot but God can. And truly He will.
