PUT ON THE MIND OF CHRIST

PUT ON THE MIND OF CHRIST

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5 KJV

Do you know that as a child of God, you are no longer a sinner? Paul said: “Let this mind be in you. That is the crux of the matter. He says this mind was the mindset that Jesus functioned with- the mindset of: “I am not a sinner.” This is because sinners commit sin. But you are not a sinner.

You must have made mistakes even after making Jesus the Lord of your life but that does not make you a sinner. When you received Christ into your life, what was done on your behalf became yours. “For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified” (Hebrews 10:14 KJV). Through that one offering, He says, “put on that mindset that the power of sin over your life is destroyed; sin shall not have dominion over you.” You are the righteousness of God in Christ: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV). If He became sin, how can you also become sin? He became sin that you might become righteous. Put on that mind! Righteousness makes you understand that you have the gene of God inside you, not the seed of sin.

In 1 John 3:8 tells us that: “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil”(KJV). The devil is a sinner. Then in 1 John 3:9, the bible declares: “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin… he cannot sin, because he is born of God” (KJV). You cannot sin because the seed of God is inside you. As you go into the New Year, go in with confidence that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; approach your Father and be assured that the coming year will be a greater year for you.
