NO ONE STANDS FOR GOD AND GETS BURNT
“He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Daniel 3:25 (KJV)
Our text is the story of Shadrach and his friends who faced the temptation of the fiery furnace for refusing to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s idol. The fact that other Jews had bowed, and God did not strike them dead by thunder would have made these three Hebrew boys bow too; but they said to the King “with all due respect, we will rather die than disobey God”.
How strong is your commitment to God? When faced with temptation, are you quick to explain it off, saying: God will understand? Do you hide under the guise of “no one will see me” to do the unimaginable? Beloved, if you have been bowing at the point of temptation before, I challenge you to dare to stand. No one stands for God and gets burnt in the fire of life.
Look at the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! They refused to bow. They stood before the king and restated their commitment to God. The furnace was heated seven times. It was so hot that those who threw them in were burnt to death. But the unimaginable happened! The king looked into the fire and saw four people. I am sure he cleaned his eyes and counted repeatedly until he voiced out his confusion. Were not three men thrown into the fire? Yes! Three men were thrown in and three men came out. But when they were in the fire, God manifested physically and cooled the fire to the extent that the only thing that got burnt were the ropes that tied them.
They came out unhurt and the king was forced to make a pronouncement that only the God of the Hebrew boys deserved to be worshipped. Not only were they delivered, but they were also promoted. I challenge you today to dare to stand for God. He will come through for you and you will experience divine promotion.
You will not be overwhelmed!
