NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST

NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST

“When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John

The Pharisees caught a woman in adultery and brought her to Jesus. And they said: we caught her in the very act, what do you say? Jesus didn’t want to break the law, neither did He want to endorse what the woman did, nor did He want to treat her mercilessly because He is mercy and grace.

If He acquitted the woman, He would be seen as being against or breaking the law because He came to fulfil the law. But if He decides to judge her, then His authority to be the Redeemer, Saviour, Grace, and Mercy personified will be questioned. How can you trap the very Word Himself with the word that He wrote?

So what did He do? He said he who is without sin should cast the first stone. He didn’t say he did not commit adultery or fornication. He just said, he who is without sin, because possibly, those of them who brought her have examined themselves that they have not committed adultery. But adultery is not the only sin. So, Jesus trapped them in their very act. And the bible says, beginning from the oldest amongst them to the last, they all left.

The oldest are those who have lived longer. You know, the longer you live, the more sins you have committed. They dropped the stone one by one, from the oldest to the least. Jesus said to the woman when they had all left: “Go and sin no more.” In other words, because they have brought you to me, you are empowered to go and sin no more.

Child of God, when you come to Jesus, there is no more condemnation. You are empowered from that moment to go and sin no more. And you do this by looking unto Him as the author and finisher of your faith.
