NEVER RUN FROM GOD

And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden”. Genesis 3:8 (KJV)

Adam was so blessed and empowered at creation that everything he named remained so. God did not see anything wrong with the names; rather, God agreed with every declaration he made.

In Genesis chapter 3, the enemy came and engaged Eve in a conversation: And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden”? The woman said to the serpent, we should not eat of the tree, nor touch it, lest we die. The serpent said to her, “you shall not surely die”. What was the serpent doing? He was swapping the result! He was painting a different picture in the mind of Eve and Eve accepted it.

When Adam and Eve heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden, they went into hiding. Did God know they had disobeyed him and eaten the fruit? Yes! He knew that His image in them had been swapped. When your image is swapped by the enemy, he intends to make you run from the very source that will heal you, deliver you and set you free. So, Adam and his wife hid from the presence of the Lord God in the tree of the garden. Even in that state, the Lord God called unto Adam and said unto him; where are you? All through the scriptures, it was not man looking for God but God looking for man. But man is always running and chasing after what is already given to him by God’s love.

As the year runs to a close and we prepare for the New Year, be determined to run to God and not from Him. His love for you is indestructible. He loves you without any reservation and His arms are ever open to you. Even when you miss it, run to Him, and be conscious of your relationship with Him. Know that He loves you unconditionally. Never run from God, run to Him.
