MOTHERS ARE A GIFT
“Honour her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” (Proverbs 31:31 NIV)
I join multiplied millions around the world to wish every mother a Happy Mother’s Day. I truly thank God for the gift of mothers, because they are indeed incredible blessings, and we cannot take them for granted.
The scriptures implore us to honour mothers for all that they do, and if you read through the entire Proverbs 31, it highlights the various roles mothers take on at different points in their lives. They take care of everyone and many times forget their pain. They derive joy in seeing everyone happy.
Mothers are incredible at multi-tasking. They do so many things at the same time and at times you wonder how they can coordinate it all. Indeed, they are a blessing. Not only do they multitask, but they are also sensitive to the needs of everyone in the family. Sometimes you see the mother undertaking a fast, not because she wants to, but because she has sensed a need. They do all they do selflessly, and this is not true just for biological mothers; it is true for every woman who has taken up the role of motherhood. They constantly sacrifice and pay the price to ensure that everyone is well taken care of.
We rise today and call mothers blessed. We pray especially for them today, that the hand of God will continually rest strongly upon them; we pray for strength and wisdom to continually fulfill their assignment. I declare that our mothers will not grow weary, neither will their efforts go unrewarded, in the name of Jesus. and they shall reap the rich fruits of their labour in good health in Jesus’ name.
If there is anyone that represents a mother figure in your life, make sure you celebrate them today and let them know how much you appreciate them. Let them know that they are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved. Don’t wait for them to go home to be with the Lord to celebrate them; give them the flowers when they are alive to appreciate them. God bless all mothers today and always.
