MERRY CHRISTMAS
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace”. Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
Today, the world over celebrates Christmas. The arrival of the Saviour of the world to the scene. He came in such a lowly form that His birth could have gone unnoticed, but that the scriptures might be fulfilled, God announced His birth in a strange way to the Shepherds and that started a string of events, so that the prophecy may be fulfilled.
There is no word of God in the Bible that is useless. The Bible is well crafted by God to capture everything that He wants to bring your attention to. So, if something does not seem to make sense to you now, it is simply because God has not yet opened your eyes to it. But remember, no word of God is void of power (Is. 55:11). Today we celebrate the fulfillment of prophecy. Today, we celebrate the arrival of our Lord and Saviour. He came to the scene in a lowly fashion, He stooped so low just to connect with every single one of us. No matter how low you are, Jesus understands and no matter the height you have attained, Jesus also understands.
As we enjoy the season and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, never forget the essence of the season. Tell someone about the Reason for the season. Use your social media handles to let the world know who He is to you. When a friend or benefactor celebrates his or her birthday, you know how you celebrate him or her, do much more for Jesus. Share the testimony of His goodness to you, and let the world know that you are His disciple. Share His love with your world.
Also, take time to reflect on your relationship with Him. How is your walk with Him? Are you still connected with Him, or have you taken a detour? Is He still occupying the center of your life, or have you pushed Him to a corner? Where you need to make amends, make that commitment today.
