MERCY IS LOOKING FOR YOU
“And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.” 2 Samuel 9:3 (KJV)
David became the king of Israel as God had ordained. But before then, he had cut a covenant with Jonathan. A covenant that will last for generations. A covenant that will ensure that he preserves the genealogy of Jonathan and Saul. And so, when he came on board, he asked: “…...Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” (2 Samuel 9:1 KJV)
Jonathan had a son called Mephibosheth and he had been abandoned in a place called Lodebar. A place where there is no vision, no ambition, and nothing to look forward to. He abandoned and left for dead, yet Mercy was looking for him. I want you to know that Mercy is looking for you. Mercy is reaching out to you in your present condition. I don’t know who lied to you. I don’t know who has told you that it is over. But I want you to know that Mercy is looking for you to do you good and to turn things around in your favour.
David decided to show kindness unto Mephibosheth, not because he deserved it, but because of his covenant with Jonathan. Because of the covenant, Mercy shall continually speak on your behalf.
King David was duly informed that Mephibosheth was lame. In other words, he didn’t qualify. He has weaknesses and failures. Unknown to Ziba, when Mercy reaches out, it overrules all the weaknesses and all the mistakes. And that’s what the Lord is doing for you. His Mercy turns things around in your situations. They thought David will change his mind because of his lameness. But king David sent them to fetch him out of Lodebar.
Beloved, I don’t care what mess you are in. Mercy has spoken! And when Mercy speaks, every other thing is silenced. The Mercy of God will give you what you do not deserve. Mercy will look for you. Mercy will call your name!
