MEDITATE ON THE WORD
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
The word of God is not just something you hear once. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom. 10:17). The fact that you heard the word of God once does not mean you have it all. You need to become one with the word to the extent that even if you are beaten with a baseball bat, the word cannot be beaten out of you. The word needs to move from Logos to Rhema and the only way this can happen is as you give yourself to meditation.
To meditate on the word is to muse over the word; think about the word over and over again and say it to yourself over and over again. The fact that you heard the word once and got excited does not mean you got it all. Medicate on the word. Get the CD and play it over and over again. Burn it into your iPod, phone or tablet and play it over and over again. Use technology to your advantage; technology has made things easier. You can carry the word around with you in your phone without having any additional burden.
Don’t get carried away with videos and jokes, invest in your spirit man by meditating on the word and when the word matures, you will literally live the word without any one reminding you of it. No wonder the Psalmist said “Thy word have I hidden in my heart …” He knew that if his life will go on autopilot, he has to pay the price of storing the word in his heart.
Another thing you should do is to write the word on paper and put it all around you. Paste it on your bathroom mirror, put it on the door to your bedroom, put it on a frame by your bedside until you are filled with the word and watch the word come to pass in your life.
