LOVE GIVES

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16

Love is a very interesting phenomenon. The love of man takes, and it is conditional, but the love of God is unconditional. His love reaches out to you first. He loved you before you even realized His love, and His love is unearned, undeserved, and unconditional.

We are in that season when everyone talks about love and I want to draw your attention to the God kind of love and encourage you to extend that love to everyone around you. If we can all understand and walk in the God-kind of love, our world will be a better place. Imagine a world where love reigns, which means things as simple as stealing will be eradicated. Do you know why? You cannot steal from someone you truly love. That was why Jesus said love is the fulfillment of the law.

Let us look at the scripture when He was asked which law is the greatest in Matthew 22:36-40. “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Did you see that? The concept of love is God’s idea. In fact, God does not love; He is LOVE.

As we celebrate love in this season, let us be like God. The love of God gives. The way to show love is by giving. So give your time, talent, and resources to make the world a better place. Let the love of God shine through you as you touch a life today.
