LEVERAGE ON THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS II
Dearly Beloved, welcome to another week of God’s grace and glory. Today, I’ll be continuing with what I shared last week on the subject of leveraging on Jesus’ sacrifice.
Child of God, all through the scriptures, we see God’s plan and intention for His people. The Bible is filled with great examples of victory and prosperity that God’s people enjoyed, but as great as those were, they were accomplished under the old covenant, and cannot be compared to what He has purposed for us in the new covenant-the covenant that was ratified in the precious blood of Jesus. This is where you belong.
Beloved, God’s plan for your life is that you reign here on earth. The Bible says in 3 John 2 that His wish above ALL THINGS (emphasis mine), is that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul also prospers. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us His thoughts towards you are good thoughts and not evil thoughts; in other words, God only thinks well of you and He wants you as His child to represent Him in the best way possible, by prospering and succeeding on earth. This is why He sent His son Jesus to pay the supreme price, so that sin and all its consequences, will no longer be a barrier to us living in the fullness of His purpose.
The million-dollar question then is, “How do we leverage on this sacrifice of Jesus?” How can the believer practically make the most advantage of what Jesus did for us? The way to leverage on Christ’s sacrifice, is to take hold of the lavish gifts that His death, burial and resurrection provided for us, and appropriate them to our different areas of need. It is synonymous to having for example, a cheque of NGN 20 million Naira, which you received from your benefactor, and in the same breathe, you’re complaining of lacking food, shelter, mobility and the basic needs of life. Child of God, what are you waiting for? Go cash your cheque from the bank, and meet all your needs!
Everything that we require for life and godliness has already been provided (2 Peter 1:3-4) through Christ, therefore we accept and receive the healing (Isaiah 53:4-5), the prosperity (2 Corinthians 8:9), and all the blessings (Ephesians 1:3) for every need. Beloved, the price has been paid on your behalf, so take that which belongs to you. However, in order to enjoy these benefits Jesus paid for you to have, you must know exactly what belongs to you, you must have knowledge.
The late great evangelist of old, Charles Spurgeon shared a story about a visit he paid to a poor, old woman. This woman lived in abject poverty in a dingy home, without electricity, and food. During his visit, he saw a framed document on the wall across the room, and went ahead to read it. Apparently, the woman had been left a will, she had been bequeathed great wealth by a rich woman who she served, but unfortunately for her, she had no idea of what she had because she couldn’t read and write, and so suffered through life due to ignorance.
Child of God you cannot afford to be ignorant of God’s promises if you are going to enjoy the blessings of God. You must know all that your inheritance entails in order to enjoy it. Get into the Word and take that which belongs to you. This is the way you leverage on the finished works of Jesus.
I declare that this week God will make a way for you. I declare that your eyes are flooded with light to know all that He died to give you. You will no longer walk in ignorance. I bless you today in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Maranatha!
