JESUS LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR YOUR DELIVERANCE
“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” John 15:13 (KJV)
Do you know that Jesus Christ was not arrested? He was not murdered, and He was not killed. Look at what he said in John 10:17 -18: “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it again…” He was the one who laid down His life. It was not the religious rulers who came and flaunted all their machetes and all their weapons. No! He laid down His life that He may take it again. Jesus said that He willingly laid down His life. That was the master’s stroke!
All these were done for mankind. They took Him, ridiculed Him, and messed Him up. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter and a sheep before his sharers, yet He did not open His mouth. He was wounded for our transgression and bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was on him and by His stripes, we were healed. It pleased the Father that He should be bruised and ridiculed. For the first time, the Father turned His back on Jesus. All along He has been calling Him Father. But that day he called Him my God: why have you forsaken me. He was forsaken so that you and I will no longer be forsaken.
And they crucified Him. He was killed like a criminal. All these humiliations were for a reason. That is why I tell people whenever they try to despise grace: that the fact that grace is unearned, unmerited, and undeserved does not mean it was not paid for. The huge price was paid so it can be inherited. Jesus paid so that we will no longer pay. That is why you must always appreciate grace. How can you pay for grace? Man had no answer to sin. Man could not deliver himself from sin. It had to take God to come from heaven. He came to deliver us from the scourge of sin. When Jesus said it is finished, it meant that the price needed to be paid for man to be free had been fully paid.
The devil thought that he will still stop God’s agenda, but he had already failed. And there is nothing he can do to abort your destiny.
